connects people who value and uphold the Canadian Bill of Rights, the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms and basic human rights set out in Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR).
We cherish our rights:
* to informed consent over medical procedures and health.
* to own property,
* to speak/write freely, and disagree openly with government policies.
* to travel freely.
*to participate in peaceful demonstrations.
* to worship freely.
There are monthly meetings, working groups, a newsletter and website.
This group was started in 2020 - this website launched in November 2025.

Click buttons to register. Location will be sent by email. There is no cost to attend – Programs vary from social to educational with food/drink orders appreciated but not imperative. Last order for food 6:45 PM. At 7:00 PM, the venue is closed to the public when the program begins. If there is no speaker, socializing continues until 9:00 PM closing.

Halton Smart Meters Action Plan
Although the plan was for a social evening for our February meeting, an urgent matter has come to our attention. Smart Water Meters are being installed in our homes - like it or not! Although the focus is Halton right now, the smart water meters are already in up to 95% of homes in many major cities in Canada. However, this is a controversial topic. CBC reports 17,000 have refused smart meters in NB.
Lydia Polstra has had extensive experience in industry as a Supply Chain Manager - which she taught at Sheridan College. She has pushed back against Halton Hills Council and is pushing back again..
Lydia will share evidence she has been gathering, will talk about problems with Smart Water Meters and show how collectively we can have a voice.
Feel free to bring your neighbours to this meeting.

Noel says Windows users must know this! His main concern is Microsoft's breach of privacy and the constant up-seling, forcing customers to pay more for product. He has alternative solutions which he will share in this presentation. Noel will is happy to receive specific questions from participants prior to the talk at noeldkendall@protonmail.com and will gear his talk to the needs of participants.
His Background A pioneering technologist and entrepreneur, Noel D. Kendall co-founded a startup with fellow University of Waterloo engineers, hand-built a personal computer showcased in Montreal in 1975, and helped develop Canada’s first intelligent terminal with Volker Craig, delivering units to the Credit Bureau of Canada. He later joined Datacrown Inc as a systems programmer, supporting the largest remote computing network in the country, and was recruited into Canada’s leading JES2 systems programming team. Over a decade, Noel’s expertise in assembly language and MVS internals contributed substantially to mainframe operations and advanced Canadian technology. |
